Here at Trampolines Australia we are passionate about your safety and wellbeing when using our trampolines. Following are a list of safety tips that we believe will make your trampolining experience much more safe and enjoyable. However, we hope that you will treat this list as the tips they are and don't treat them as exact guidelines. Please contact the relevant government departments listed in the 'Government Departments' for further information on Australian guidelines and standards.
It is important that the area around the trampoline is always kept clear. It is important that you do not place your trampoline near trees, fences, poles etc.
-Bare feet provide a better grip on the trampoline mat.
-Jumping in the centre of the trampoline will greatly reduce your risk of injury.
-Replace worn parts promptly to avoid further wear which may result in sudden breakage. - Place your trampoline on soft surfaces such as mulch or river sand. In the case of falls from the trampoline, this environment will limit the chance of serious injury.
-Limit the extent of play or teach a set of 'trampoline rules' to children with regard to their individual age and ability.
-Ensure you have a padded surface around your trampoline which limits any possible contact with the trampoline springs. This is essential in limiting serious injury, and for this reason, Trampolines Australia provides free spring pads with every trampoline. Make sure pads are properly installed before use.
- Ensure that all spring hooks are fully covered before use.
- If possible, it is beneficial to place the legs of the trampoline in a pit below ground level. This ensures the safety of the user by limiting the distance that they may fall.
- To ensure complete safety, especially amongst younger users, install a safety net which fits within the springs (for more information, see the safety net page).
- Ensure that only one user is on the trampoline at once to avoid possible injury.
- If your children wish to do more dangerous stunts such as front or back flips, please ensure they have the professional training to do so. Any such flips or stunts by amateur users is highly discouraged.
